New Democrat Majority Launches Ad in MI-07 Primary

LANSING, MICHIGAN — New Democrat Majority today launched a new digital ad in Michigan’s 7th Congressional District highlighting Will Lawrence’s record of attacking fellow Democrats and questioning whether he can be trusted to take on Donald Trump and Republicans.
The digital buy, titled “I Will Fight for You,” asks how Lawrence can fight Trump when he is too busy attacking fellow Democrats. The spot contrasts Lawrence’s campaign promises to fight for Michigan voters with his past record attacking Black Democratic leaders, including President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Will Lawrence says he is ready to fight, but his record shows that the people he is most interested in fighting are fellow Democrats,” said New Democrat Majority. “Michigan Democrats deserve a nominee focused on defeating Republicans, not each other.”
The ad features past comments from Lawrence arguing that Black political leadership is “a big problem for left politics in this country” and “really defangs the white left.” It also highlights his description of President Obama’s legacy as one of “cowardice and betrayal” and his work against Harris during the 2024 election.
New Democrat Majority is a SuperPAC exclusively focused on electing and reelecting New Dems to the House of Representatives. The group is investing early in pragmatic Democrats who can win tough races and build a durable House majority.
